What are our products made from?

Our horse care products are 100% natural, and contain only the finest selections of soy, corn, palm kernel, apple seed and jojoba. They also hold a propriety blend of other plant seed esters and de ionized water, which is free of any elemental contaminants and toxins.

What makes our products different from others?

Every product in the Chestfields equestrian and pet range is derived from natural ingredients. We have firm policies against the use of chemicals, as these often cause poor skin conditions, can be harmful or irritant to your horse’s coat, and can result in a poor quality of cleaning.

You may find that other horse care products include a variety of potentially harmful ingredients, and use unnecessary chemistries that Chestfields do not.

We offer alternative products that provide extraordinary cleaning, whilst remaining gentle and caring. By choosing Chestfields natural horse care products, you can ensure that your equine breeds and pets will not only be prepared to stun in every occasion, but are also enjoying the very best products available for their care.

How much Total Bodywash should I use to bathe my horse?

We recommend that you use approximately 150ml of Total Bodywash per wash; however this is a decision best made by you as it will differ depending on the size of your horse! When first using the product, you may tend to use more then necessary, as it is unfamiliar and you might not realise how effective it is. We can assure you that re application of the product is not a necessity, and that a little amount goes a long way!

Do I ever have to scrub?

There may be some occasions when a little light agitation is required, for example, heavy manure or grass stains may not simply rinse away. We suggest that you spray the product onto these stains, and lightly work it in as a pre soak. Then simply wet your horse and use the spray on and rinse off method as usual.

Will my horse’s coat dry out if I use Total Bodywash regularly?

No. Every natural grooming product in the Chestfields range is gentle enough for daily use, this makes them ideal for an after workout shower. Just make sure you remember to rinse the product out well!

Why are there no suds?

You shouldn’t expect the suds that you may be used to getting from other equine shampoos, so don’t feel that you have to keep re applying the product.

Suds encourage hair shafts to stick together and can restrict the cleaning and conditioning of the coat. You will notice the difference using our Total Bodywash, as it separates each hair giving individual care and attention, helping to maintain a cleaner, more manageable coat.

Do I wet my horse before applying Total Bodywash?

Yes. You should always thoroughly wet your horse before using our Total Bodywash. This product is designed to clean your animal quickly and effectively in a few easy steps. Simply wet your horse, spray the product on, leave to work for a few minutes and then rinse off!

What happens if I use too much Total Bodywash on my horse?

Generous amounts of product will not cause any harm, but may result in a longer rinsing process. It is important that you rinse the product off thoroughly, as all of the dirt that has been released by the product needs to be rinsed away to provide you with outstanding results!

How does the product effectively reduce flies and treat fungus and skin irritations?

The lack of irritants, reagents and oxidizers in all of our products, allow them to be very skin friendly. The plant based fatty acids and alconolamids in our Cut & Graze are very soothing to the skin, these ingredients help to clean out cuts and abrasions without irritating them.

Additionally, it has been observed that organic products do not promote bacterial colonization, including fungal growths, as they are natural inhibitors to micro organisms.

What can I clean with Horsebox & Trailer Wash?

This naturally balanced solution cleans steel, paint, and rubber safely. By using Chestfields Horsebox & Trailer Wash regularly, you will no longer need to acidize your aluminium trailer, and the non-toxic formula of this product will allow for the reduction of further corrosion.

This product cannot remove oxidation that has already taken place.

Can I use Horsebox & Trailer Wash on other types of vehicles?

Yes. Horsebox & Trailer Wash can be used on any type of vehicle including trucks & trailers, cars, boats, motorcycles, and farm equipment.

Can I clean my windows with Horsebox & Trailer Wash?

Horsebox & Trailer Wash is designed for use on your entire vehicle. It will not leave a film on your windows and will clean hard water deposits and flies!

Is Multi Purpose Safe for use on Leather?

Yes. Our Multi Purpose is safe for use on leather, however it will not condition it. Rubber, vinyl, fabric and all metals can be cleaned with Mult Purpose and it is suitable for all of your tack and equipment.

Also, Multi Purpose is great around the home! Use it in the kitchen and bathroom, as a spot cleaner on rugs and on windows when applied with a clean, damp cloth.
