Jenna Saunders

My name is Jenna Saunders and I have been around horses since my sixth birthday, having asked my Nan for lessons instead of a present and from the first day I was hooked!
Not coming from a horsey family, when I eventually got my own pony at eight years old, it was of course the first one we went to see! It turned out to be a very cheeky Welsh section a pony called Wispa who taught me lots of things, but mainly how to fall off without crying!! I then went on to have lots of different horses and competed in everything from pony club eventing, mounted games, show jumping, driving and dressage .
I sort of fell into showing after working for Adrianne Smyth, a well respected Judge who taught me all about the importance of conformation. I went off to buy myself the best coloured youngster I could find, and ended up with three babies, Parkdene Music Man, Park Daisy May and Solaris Dwenqua. They have all done so well for me and I couldn’t be more proud of their success.
My proudest moments to date would have to be winning Supreme Champion with Calvin at Ingliston as a 2 year old beating all the ridden horses,
Supreme BSPA champion with Solaris Dwenqua,
Winning 2 classes at the Royal Windsor then going Champion,
and of course picking up our first ever cuddy ticket at south of England qualifying us for the cuddy Supreme Championship at the Horse Of the Year Show.
We are completely home produced and I couldn’t have achieved all this without the help of friends, family and of course my husband Mark. My friend Nicola is a full time nanny yet she always finds the time to help me prep for shows and comes in before work to feed the ones we leave behind. My husband Mark who juggles running his own business with driving the lorry, doing all the boy jobs around the yard, and will regularly be seen in the show ring himself if we end up with more than one in an evening performance, or our classes clash.
And now Chestfields, I am truly grateful for your sponsorship. I love all the products, the Mane & Tail shampoo which I use all over to bath them, and the Fly Repellent is quite simply the best I have ever used. It’s so nice to finally have a shampoo that gets the horses show clean in one bath, even if they have stains! Also, to see my horses out enjoying their free time in the field without being bothered and bitten by flies is great!!
